What You Will Do:

The EH&S Generalist will perform a wide range of duties to analyze regulations, determine compliance requirements, and develop plans, methods, procedures and documentation necessary to ensure regulatory compliance at PWES. You will also coordinate and conduct Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations to monitor performance and assist line management to produce action plans to implement the necessary improvements. In addition, the person in this role will be involved in new hire orientation training, DMR training, and PWES’ respiratory and medical monitoring programs. You should also be capable of working with a wide range of people from the site leader to shop floor employees and provide team leadership to meet highly aggressive goals. The EH&S Generalist should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. You must be capable of adjusting and managing multiple priorities, demonstrating effective time management, and being self-directed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination, and administration of EH&S management systems in accordance with RTX, P&W and PWES policies and procedures.  

  • Provide expert technical support and direction to facility management to ensure understanding and implementation of systems required to comply with regulations and eliminate injuries. 

  • Guide the EH&S Council and subcommittees to optimize performance and results.

  • Partner with the line supervisors to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and RTX EH&S Standard Practices.

  • Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team. 

  • Conduct trend analysis for inspection/audits, injuries, spills, near hits and develop corrective/preventive actions to improve performance.

  • Identify opportunities to successfully integrate EH&S programs/activities into overall business operations with a focus on management system integration.

  • Participate in pollution prevention/waste reduction initiatives.

  • Assist line management with effective investigations and mistake proofing initiatives.

  • Assist line management with the identification and correction of unsafe conditions or practices to prevent adverse impacts to our people, organization and company.

  • Maintain records, reports, statistics, and other data relevant to EH&S performance.

  • As needed, participate in regulatory inspections and provide appropriate documents and records.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years’ experience with environmental regulations, permitting, monitoring, and reporting to internal and external entities, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent degree and 5+ years’ equivalent experience, OR 9+ years’ equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.

  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiar with the operation and maintenance of industrial wastewater treatment systems.

  • DOT/IATA Certified or ability to obtain after starting the position.

  • Certifications such as CSP and CIH are preferred.

  • Prior experience with Inspections and Audits.

  • TapRoot or other RCCA training.

  • Working knowledge of compliance requirements of OSHA, CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, NPDES, and TSCA.   

  • Experience in reducing environmental footprint through pollution prevention and energy conservation initiatives. 

  • Demonstrated technical writing and proficiency in MS Office products.   

  • Previous Aerospace OEM and MRO experience is desirable.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
