The FLIGHT DECK Lean Specialist will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Evendale Assembly & Test using the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model. This role will partner with and operate within Evendale Production Assembly & Test, driving Lean activities to improve Safety & Quality and reduce manufacturing lead time with processes that attain TAKT. The practitioner will work closely with hourly workforce and frontline leaders to implement lean methodologies, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coach and collaborate with front line leaders and hourly workforce to help progress our Lean Culture and drive continuous improvement.
- Focal for FLIGHT DECK; identify skills and behavior gaps, close front line leader and hourly workforce gaps to the FLIGHT DECK standard tools and mindset.
- Primary support to scope and execute Kaizen events (i.e. data analysis, time study / genba observations, process mapping, kaizen sub leader, facilitation).
- Execute on action plans from Value Stream Analysis and sustainment of Kaizen events, supporting implementation and tracking progress.
- Participate in site Operating Cadences including daily management meetings, operating reviews and drive Problem Solving activities (just do it’s & At Point Problem Solving).
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university AND a minimum of 3 years of experience in applying lean methods (i.e., VSM, Cell design, 3P, TPM, 5S, set up reduction, kaizen, daily management, standard work, leader standard work, problem solving, Kanban or lean transformations).
- OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as individual contributor or team lead experience AND 3 years of experience in applying lean methods (i.e., VSM, Cell design, 3P, TPM, 5S, set up reduction, kaizen, daily management, standard work, leader standard work, problem solving, Kanban or lean transformations).
- Demonstrated success leading and supporting process improvements.
