The Methods Planner is responsible for defining and implementing methods to build and assemble aircraft parts efficiently and in accordance with company, supplier and AS9100 requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesDraft and revise assembly instruction routings or manufacturing instruction routings for the manufacturing or assembly of aircraft componentsAbility to analyze drawings to determine the most efficient and economical way to manufacture a detailed part or assemblyDevelop assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft componentsDevelop necessary tools to manufacture or assemble aircraft components by considering established geometric tolerancesHarmonize the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategies by working in close collaboration with Customers, Engineering, Parts Logistics, Quality and ProductionActively participate in production support by coordinating problem solving with other support departmentsKeep abreast of best ways to enhance assembly and manufacturing strategies and participate in improvement projectsMaintain and establish relationships with current and new suppliers for sub-contracted work. Initiate RFQ’s and choose the best vendorConduct cost analysis for the different parts and assemblies to establish standard costPropose and implement cost related innovative solutions to enhance and streamline business processes, optimize costs, improve customer satisfaction, improve relationships with suppliers and internal partnersInterpret, verify and approve drawings and other production documents QualificationsCollege or University Diploma in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Industrial, Engineering, Aerospace Manufacturing or in a relevant fieldAerospace experience in detail and assembly methods and all process related to the manufacture of Aircraft parts including but not limited to: machining, sheet metal, welding, composites, chemical processes, assembly and overhaulExperience in cost estimating for the manufacture of aerospace detail and assembly partsAbility to read technical drawings and have a good visualization in 3D with excellent analytical skillsKnowledge and ability to work with computer-based software such as Catia, AutoCad, Dellcam Power Inspect, MasterCam, etc.Knowledge and ability to work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as JDE, etc.Knowledge of quality system standards (including ISO9001:2000+AS9100B)
