This critical role in Digital Technology is an exciting opportunity to join our growing DevOps and Classified Engineering Solutions organization as a System DevOps Administrator. The primary responsibility for this position is to design, implement and support engineering solutions for our key programs. You will develop, refine, and shape the future technology infrastructure that will allow our Engineers to bring innovative solutions to our customer with greater speed and efficiency!

** This position requires a Secret Clearance, is onsite in St. Petersburg, FL, and a relocation package is available if needed. **

What YOU will do:

  • System administration experience in Windows and/or Linux based systems.

  • Leverage company best practices and capabilities to assist programs with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevSecOps software solutions.

  • Ensure system reliability and continuity by developing and validating fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans for engineering/development tools infrastructure.

  • Responsible for the daily DevOps and systems administration in support of environments and applications.

  • Administer and maintain the security and compliance of tooling solutions including hardening, patching and version upgrades.

  • Manage disaster recovery (DR) for servers, databases, and file shares.

  • Provide documentation of implemented DevOps environments by authoring procedures, work instructions and program profile documents.

  • Setup and maintain local site applications on VMware ESXi servers.

  • Maintain technical configuration and knowledge base documentation.

  • Lead technical projects, working with team members and inter-departmental groups to plan, execute, and deliver new features or capabilities.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government DoD Secret security clearance is required.

  • Requires minimum 5 years of platform engineering / support experience to include: three (3) years of experience developing and operating containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes; building developer platform services and APIs that scale in production.  

  • Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure; designing or administering Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and controls; building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines.

  • Experience managing Windows client and Server operating systems in an Active Directory environment.

  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat or AWS Linux).

  • Experience with container technology (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher).

  • Experience/familiarity with server-based DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, BitBucket, GitLab, Confluence, Coverity, Jenkins, IBM Rational products.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain additional program access as required.

  • Must obtain Security+ certification or equivalent certification within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Automating platform management at enterprise scale.

  • Strong sense of accountability to meet work deadlines and support sprint goals.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Active and current Secret Clearance.

  • Experience/familiarity with systems and software engineering tools such as MATLAB, Visual Studio, VxWorks/Windriver, Python, and DOORS.

  • Experience or exposure to database administration (Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Postgres).

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team, while also demonstrating initiative and drive.

  • Experience responding to software outages and executing postmortem reviews including root cause analyses.

  • Proficiency in scripting via bash, python and/or Powershell. Automating platform management at enterprise scale.

  • Experience developing platform APIs that make common software operations scalable and repeatable.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
