Job Description:
RISE is the next generation revolutionary engine concept for the future narrow body airframes. Its Fan&Booster team is looking for a Airfoil Design Engineer who will be responsible for taking part in a design process of airfoil components as well as supporting design of test rigs and tooling equipment. In this role, the individual will work within defined boundaries to make decisions to solve engineering problems of a basic and moderate complexity (typically under guidance), by taking timely actions, short-term planning, applying solid engineering principles and judgment to find optimum solutions. We are looking for hardworking, open-minded people willing to learn exciting new to GE engineering fields who are eager to take challenges.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Develop deeper knowledge of airfoil design including understanding of Best
  • Practices and apply them in component design and integrate with adjacent hardware
  • Collaborate to resolve issues using established procedures with the support of more experienced team members, may have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework
  • Act as a resource to the team, providing technical support to colleagues
  • Support efforts/projects to solve both technical and schedule related problems
  • Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews
  • Monitor and effectively communicate projects status and potential issues
  • Ensure work is thoroughly documented
  • Support specific functional and organizational initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • MSc/BSc in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar
  • Experience relevant to indicated position area of expertise
  • Executing analyses/evaluation of assigned projects, with limited guidance
  • Technical and problem-solving skills and ability to set priorities for assigned tasks
  • Focused on goals, motivated

  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Jet engines design experience
