Position Summary
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, but recognises the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions on new assignments.
Responsibilities
Technical Responsibility
- Participates in engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing and validate final hardware components
- Under direct supervision can apply relevant standards/specifications
- Is able to identify basic risks associated with a design and manufacture of products
- Has a basic theoretical knowledge of engineering principles in one area
- Helps maintain 6S and HSE standard
Technical Processes, Tools & Documentation
- Performs mechanical component development and integration using Computer Aided Design (CAD) concepts using basic applicable methods
Technical Leadership
- Under close supervision, provides expertise in designing, developing, manufacturing and testing mechanical components
Problem Solving
- Rudimentary skills to troubleshoot rigs and implement fixes
- Ability to apply with coaching a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
Commercial Awareness
- Understands the need to estimate, budget and control costs associated with project execution
Qualifications
Education Level (Required): 5 GCSE A* - C (4 and above) including Maths, English and STEM subject or equivalent (BTEC) and 2 A Level Grade C or above in STEM based subjects (Maths, Physics, Engineering Science) or equivalent
