UnspecifiedCollins Aerospace is looking for a Principal Engineer within Program Technical Office (PTO) supporting the A320 Airbus Programs. You will be a key partner in a customer facing role that liaises across Airbus, Pratt & Whitney, and different internal functions to drive technical resolution on open nacelle items. You will provide program level technical support to design, analyze, and test nacelle products and support in-service aircraft. In addition, you will be provided an opportunity to gather product knowledge and travel to global manufacturing sites and Airbus facilities:
What you will do:
- Drive timely resolution of in service and flight test findings through leading technical investigations and step back reviews
- Lead and support engineering design changes focused on producibility, cost reduction and fleet issue support
- Coordinates with the Program Technical Manager (PTM), Component Engineering Teams, Program, Supply Chain and Afterspanet to track design changes that involve integration across multiple sites and multiple components and support ship unit cost, and weight management and production support initiatives
- Forecast and track engineering spend to ensure proper resources are used and budgets are maintained.
- Coordinate Design Reviews, track deliverables and conduct root cause analysis investigations with Internal and External Stakeholders on Engine Build Up (EBU) components and other nacelle systems.
- Develop and maintain visual controls, metrics and schedules to ensure timely completion of analysis/design activities
Qualifications you must have: Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Proficient Conversational and written English required, needs to be able to efficiently communicate with corporate leaders both in person and in reports/via email.
Experience with Aerospace Engineering Design and analysis
Project Management experience
Travel up to 20 domestically and internationally to support program and customer initiatives
