Dimensional Management Engineering is used to identify requirements and objectives that are dimensional in nature, decompose those requirements and objectives to measurements, use variation analysis tools to link measurements to detail part feature variation. Requirements are typically system level and customer defined. Objectives are typically building objectives and identified by production engineering to reduce product cost and increase product quality.
In this role the candidate will apply the dimensional management engineering process on programs and use variation analysis tools. Additionally, in this roll the candidate will help develop, maintain, and train dimensional management engineering processes, tool use, and tolerance application (GD&T).
Position Responsibilities:
Work with Systems Engineering to identify and decompose dimensional requirements and objectives to measurements.
Perform variation analysis to link measurements with product definition geometry, datums, tolerances, locating methods, and assembly sequences.
Utilize experts to consider manufacturing process capability.
Coordinate dimensional requirements across internal and external team members.
Ensure the analysis reflects the design definition, build plan, tool design and vice versa.
Recommend changes to design definition, build plan, tool design that meet dimensional requirements and objectives.
Evaluate manufacturing data to confirm analysis. Influence change proposals to achieve robust variation controls.
Provide input to the program plan to ensure timely incorporation of dimensional management engineering activities and deliverables.
Write or support documentation to include: dimensional management plan, variation analysis reports, datum and tolerance guides, measurement plan, etc.
Serve as project consultant for dimensional management engineering.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Level 3: 2+ years of work-related experience plus a Bachelor’s OR a Master’s degree.
Level 3: 5+ years of work-related experience plus a Bachelor’s OR a Master’s degree and 3+ years of work-related experience OR a PhD.
Level 4: 9+ years of work-related experience plus a Bachelor’s OR a Master’s degree and 7+ years of work-related experience OR a PhD and 4+ years of work-related experience.
Experience performing variation analysis (1D or 3D) on structure, assembly approaches
Training and/or practical experience with the application and interpretation of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 and communication GD&T guidance for large teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active Secret Clearance
Willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO
Experience working in manufacturing environment with understanding of determinate assembly methodologies
Knowledge of 3D variation analysis software (Siemens VSA)
Experience using NX/Teamcenter or CATIA/ENOVIA methods and tools

Level 2: $75,650 - $102,350
Level 3: $90,100 - $121,900
Level 4: $113,050 - $152,950
