Supportability Engineer
Location: Templecombe or Cheadle (hybrid working)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: 42-46 per hour PAYE or 58-63 per hour Umbrella
You will contribute to the consideration of support system requirements in the product design.
You will pilot the definition, implementation and optimisation of the support system throughout the life cycle in the underwater systems area of the business.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work as a supportability / engineering team member to take responsibility for own / teamwork packages.
- Undertake own supportability engineering activities and provide day to day supportability engineering guidance to own team.
- Make supportability / engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
- Support own team in matters of technical understanding and support in areas of own expertise.
- Provide help and direction to less experienced team members. Manage own elements of logistics engineering work package and support others.
- Contribute to relevant Engineering Communities of Interest.
- Take responsibility for contributing to team planning, risk management, quality and HSE.
- Seek & share good practice & knowledge to continuously improve own and team practices.
- Contribute to the development & continuation of successful local supply chain relationships.
Proven Ability / Key Skills
- Good working proven ability in preferably more than two phases of the lifecycle with sufficient knowledge of the total engineering lifecycle to enable a good understanding of adjacent lifecycle phases and through life engineering issues:
- Logistic Support Analysis (MIL-STD-1388 2B, Raytheon Eagle LSAR)
- Reliability, Maintainability and Testability Studies (MIL-STD-217F, ANSI VITA, FIDES)
- Reliability Centred Maintenance
- Level of Repair Analysis
- NATO codification
- Facilities Planning
- Disposal Planning
- Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation assessment
- FMECAs (MIL-STD-1629A)
- Through-Life Cost and spares modelling (using Systecon OPUS10, SIMLOX, CATLOX)
- Initial Provisioning
- DRACAS (JIRA, Favoweb)
- Proven ability of technical and commercial contacts with customers, partners and suppliers.
