We are looking for an ambitious and talented user experience expert who fits well into Icelandair’s product development environment and will lead all aspects of user experience in close collaboration with the design team and digital product teams throughout every stage of product development.

The user experience designer works closely with all Icelandair product teams, which consist of front-end and back-end developers, product manager, content specialist, QA, scrum master, and product designer. Each product team focuses on a specific part of the Icelandair customer journey, making the projects diverse and engaging. Projects are carried out in close cooperation with various stakeholders across the company to achieve product goals towards improving service to Icelandair customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the users and the user experience across the Icelandair digital products.
• Conduct and lead all user testing efforts (qualitative and quantitative research methods) for Icelandairs digital products to gain in-depth knowledge of user needs and Icelandair customer behavior.
• Use data and analytics tools to improve user experience and identify solutions to user problems.
• Analyze feedback from user testing and strive to be the voice of the user.
• Be responsible for accessibility matters across the company’s digital products.
• Lead the creation of user personas, user stories, and journey maps.
• Act as an advisor to team members within product teams and other teams across Icelandair.
• Work closely with product managers to test ideas, assumptions, and solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education relevant to the role, such as interface design, user experience, or service design.
• 3–4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of user experience in digital products (UX) including methodologies and analytics tools to measure user experience.
• Skilled at balancing functionality with usability.
• Strong understanding of different user types and their needs, and ability to easily empathize with users.
• Works well in a team as well as independently, has excellent communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Figma or similar tools is a great advantage.
• Skilled in using wireframes and prototypes to analyze and test solutions to problems.
• Interest and willingness to help build a collaborative team spirit where cooperation is key.
• Positive and creative mindset, comfortable with taking initiative in the role.
