Job Description:

CHIEF INSPECTOR - AIRCRAFT maintenance (full time salaried w/ benefits)

 

Primary work location is on-site in Killeen, TX or Albuquerque, NM. However, position will require regular travel to the location that is not the primary work site (Albuquerque, NM or Killeen, TX) and other aircraft maintenance bases in the domestic United States. Travel is expected to be approximately 50%. Relocation assistance may be available.

 

Job Summary

Reports to the Director of Maintenance/ADOM to perform the duties of Chief Inspector for all air carrier maintenance programs.  Responsible for the management of the quality assurance programs and oversight of compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's) in support of all aircraft maintenance operations.  Establishes inspection policies, procedures, and standards as necessary to assure airworthiness and regulatory compliance.  Responsible for compliance with required Federal Aviation Regulations for the operation of the air carrier and application of the General and Maintenance Operation Manuals.  Directs inspection requirements at base and line maintenance stations for airframes, engines and components.  Controls delegated inspection authority for the company and all vendor facilities.  Responsible for the inspection requirements of manufactured and purchased materials.  Directs accomplishment of non-destructive inspection for aircraft, engines and component assemblies. Establishes and maintains time limitations and specifications for all time and cycle-controlled inspections in accordance with carrier CAMP, as contained in Operations Specification Part D (Maintenance). Responsible for mandatory FAA reporting, including but not limited to the Mechanical Interruption Summary (MIS) Report, Maintenance Provider List (MPL) and Service Difficulty Report(s) (SDR).

Essential Tasks/Functions:

  • Ensures that all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s), Airworthiness Directives (AD’s), and other mandatory service instructions per manufacturer are complied with and documented for all aircraft.
  • Manage the quality assurance program for aircraft repair activities, as well as the approved vendor list and audit schedule.
  • Responsible for the overall Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) process including implementation of the CASS program. Serves as the primary auditor and analyst.  Reports to the CASS board quarterly.
  • Performs audits on all owned or assigned aircraft logbooks to ensure proper compliance with FAR’s, AD’s, and other mandatory service instructions/bulletins.
  • Maintains currency of all manufacturers’ technical service documentation and maintenance procedures to ensure the airworthiness of all owned or assigned aircraft.
  • Oversee aircraft inspectors, aircraft mechanics, and aircraft workers on matters relating to quality assurance and inspections.
  • Responsible for the Required Inspection Item (RII) program.
  • Act as Director of Maintenance/ADOM in the director’s absence.
Job Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: 10 years as an A&P Certificated Technician with Inspection Authorization, of which 1 year should have been as a maintenance inspector and have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining King Air and Beech 1900 aircraft. Experience performing an Aircraft Conformity for Part 135 Certification.

Professional Licensure: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License, FAA Inspector Authorization (IA).
Background: Must pass a background investigation and drug screening test.

Computer Skills: Proficient with MS Office and experience with Computerized Maintenance Tracking Systems like CAMPS, Veryon, Flightdocs or Traxxall.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:  5 Years Beechcraft King Air and/or 1900 aircraft experience preferred. FAR Part 135 experience and highly experienced managing a Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).

Training: Formal training on Beechcraft King Air and/or Beech 1900 series aircraft and Pratt & Whitney Engines.
