Job Description

As a Chief Inspector for an aerial firefighting group, you will oversee all aircraft inspection activities to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and established quality standards. You will lead a team of inspectors and report directly to the Vice President of Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of aircraft inspectors, assigning tasks and ensuring proper training and competency.
• Oversee the daily inspection operations and prioritize tasks.
• Manage maintenance documentation and make critical decisions regarding aircraft airworthiness.
• Develop and implement inspection procedures to maintain safe operations.
• Monitor maintenance quality, ensuring proper documentation of all inspection findings.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and internal quality standards.
• Review and approve maintenance documentation, including work orders, logbooks, and inspection reports.
• Conduct audits and spot checks to verify compliance with procedures and regulations.

• 5+ years aircraft maintenance experience on turboprop aircraft.
• 3+ years of quality experience.
• Leadership and supervisory experience.
• A&P License.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations (CFR Parts 21, 39, 43, 135, 145).

• Valid drivers license.
• Eligible for safety sensitive hire.
• Experience in aircraft maintenance, quality control, and heavy maintenance.
• Skills in repair, troubleshooting, and line maintenance.

Work Environment

Work for 6 days a week, from Monday through Saturday, with 10-hour shifts per day, running through June 2025. Shift times are from 0700 to 1730, including a 30-minute lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Belgrade, Montana.

The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $175000.00/yr.
