Job Summary
Egress Technician I. Inspect, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft egress, canopy fracturing system, emergency oxygen system components, Onboard Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS) and related systems in accordance with technical manuals under the direction of qualified inspectors/supervision.

- Perform all work-related actions as directed by management.
- Follow instructions by work center shift lead, or above.
- Ensure safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.
- Address/approach customer in courteous and professional manner.
- Address/approach co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain work center in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Meet government and company license and/or qualification requirement(s).
- Complete and comply with On-the-Job Training (OJT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste (HW), Tool Control Program (TCP), Egress/Explosive Checkout Program, and all safety regulations established by site, city, state, and federal bodies.
- Perform conditional, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on ejection seats, OBOGS, canopy, and emergency oxygen systems.
- Perform Egress System and OBOGS troubleshooting.
- Qualify and operate ground support equipment (GSE).
- Data input, records e.g. NALCOMIS/OOMA, VFS Trace (CADPAD).
- Utilize maintenance manuals, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, technical publications.
- Order required parts and supplies.
- Perform inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspection(s) under the supervision of a qualified inspector.
- Maintain Team Member (TM) ordnance qualification/certification to transport and handle ordnance.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Completion of Navy AME "A" school, equivalent military service school(s) or type/model/series (TMS) factory equivalent training, required.
- Three (3) or more years of work experience directly related to Aircraft Egress, required.
- Two (2) or more years of canopy fracturing system experience, preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP 4790.2)
- Experience with NAVAIR 11-100-1.1, and other technical maintenance manuals.
- Experience with aircraft egress systems and OBOGS.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Walk, stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, carry, balance and reach above shoulder level.
- Push or pull weight up to seventy (70) pounds.
- Eye hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Color, peripheral and depth perception, required.
- Shift work.
- Normal hearing, required.
- Work environment of a standard shop and hangar to inclement weather and extreme heat.
- Exposure to noise hazard.
- Wear protective clothing or other safety equipment, required.
- Handle required/approved hazardous material(s) as per material safety data (MSD).
Travel
• As required for periods up to, or past 90 days.
