Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
- Develop Business case for assigned projects and solicit product line support. Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with others to solve issues. Exchange technical knowledge to personnel supporting the assigned project. Consult supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters; may be required to lead a junior team.
- Prepare and present technical data to internal customers • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Support the implementation of Flight Deck principles within working teams
- Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 3 months experience in a relevant engineering position (internships, co-ops, etc)

Desired Characteristics
- Experience utilizing GD&T.
- Design and manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated technical and business collaboration with both internal manufacturing shops and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated expertise in design and analysis tools, such as Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS classic.
- Experience and familiarity with GD&T principles and reading drawings.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills.
- Ability to independently organize, document, plan and execute simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.
- Ability to learn and leverage FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospaces proprietary lean operating model.
