None/Not RequiredThe NDT Level 2 Technician will independently set up and operate equipment to perform Inspections and engineering Evaluations by applying their knowledge and experience of the process per procedures, work Instructions, Specifications, Drawings, and Level 3 direction for the applicable NDT method to determine part acceptability and report results per company requirements. This is a second-shift position with possible weekend overtime.
What You Will Do:
Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate parts for acceptance or rejection and document results in accordance with procedures
Develop and manage procedures and inspection technique sheets for Level 3 approval
Be proficient in handling and maintaining all equipment that is applicable to completing the required job
Set up and operate equipment to perform NDT inspections in accordance with approved work instructions
Work from verbal and written instruction, such as procedures/technique sheets/drawings, to plan and perform the sequence of operations required to inspect parts
Identify non-conformances based upon location size, orientation, and pattern in accordance with established criteria
Refer problems to Level 3 as appropriate
Collaborate with Level 3 for NDT inspections of Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, X-Ray, CR & CT Scanning
Participate in EH&S programs and take personal responsibility for work area safety
Support continuous improvement program activities and additional tasks assigned by supervision
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
1 year experience in NDT Inspection
Computer competency; able to use MS Work and Excel
Ability to pass the near vision eye test and the color perception test
Training and experience to certify as a Level 2 per NAS410 X-Ray and FPI
Qualifications We Prefer:
Meet the NAS 410 certification requirements for Level 2 Radiography and Penetrant Inspection methods
Weld and Casting experience
Metallurgical experience
Prior experience in Aerospace
CT system operating experience
1000 hours experience in digital Realtime X-ray (DR) & Film
Ability to understand and follow technical drawings and standard operation procedures
Possess basic knowledge or product manufacturing and inspection technology
Good team player with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Detail oriented with a hands-on approach
Demonstrate an ability to effectively cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments
Identify recurring processing problems and recommend changes in methods or equipment to eliminate or minimize them.
Recognize the need for repair or replacement of equipment used in processing

The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
