Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is directly accountable for product control including final inspection, in process inspections, documentation and control of non-conforming material; control and verification of production process changes, tooling control, and control of monitoring and measuring devices.  Key Responsibilities:Acquire knowledge of process specifications and materialsImplementation and continual improvement of product inspection plansPerform in-process and final inspection of detail parts, minor and structural assemblies, plans their execution, documentation, and record retentionPerform inspection duties to ensure all products, processes and services comply with applicable airworthiness, Company, or customer quality requirementsManage nonconforming material control in accordance with company’s quality assurance proceduresProvide assistance in quality review of Engineering MastersLiaise with quality engineering, methods engineering, design engineering and supply chain to develop resolutions and implement root cause corrective actions to technical or quality problemsManage the control of monitoring and measuring (inspection and test) devices in accordance with established company’s quality assurance proceduresActively participate and contribute as a member of the quality assurance teamMonitoring, measuring and communicating product and process metricsPropose and support improvement projects related to quality assurance proceduresParticipate and support corrective action request as a result of nonconforming trend analysis Qualifications:Transport Canada accredited College Diploma in Aeronautics is required an assetTransport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s license (AME - M) is requiredTechnical degree or diploma in Aerospace Engineering is an assetA minimum of 2 years aerospace specific quality inspection and or equivalentA minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an inspection, production, or handling product roleExperience in the maintenance of De Havilland DHC1 thru DHC6 aircraft types is an assetWorking knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulation CAR 561, 571 and CAR Std. 57,561Understanding of Certificates of Conformance (CofC) issues by part makers and Airworthiness Release Certificates (FAA 8130/TCAA Form One/Easa Form 1)Experience in continuous improvementIFS ERP system experience (or similar i.e. Total FBO, TRAX etc.) for the control and issue of aeronautical parts and materials is an asset Skills:Must have a strong attention to detail skillsKnowledge and ability to read and understand complex aircraft design drawings/blueprints and perform measurements/testing of parts made to these designsStrong focus on both internal and external customer service with excellent verbal and written communication skillsGood understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
