Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and developing Mechanical Design Engineer who is passionate about the Mechanical Design discipline and eager to grow their expertise.As a Mechanical Design Engineer (E1), you will contribute to design tasks and perform key responsibilities related to Turbomachinery hardware, assemblies, and processes for aero engines. Working within a multi-functional team environment, you will help achieve objectives focused on safety, fleet stability, and cost efficiency.This role is ideal for engineers with strong foundational experience in Mechanical Design who are ready to take on moderate engineering challenges. You will make decisions, apply concepts to solve engineering problems, and resolve issues under the guidance of experienced engineers. For more complex challenges, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers to ensure successful outcomes.You will also interact with customers and teammates outside Mexico, requiring strong English proficiency and effective communication skills.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design or integration required to define and support Turbomachinery Structures using design principles adhering to business standards and program / product requirements.
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • Execute the implementation of technical solutions of problems for components, assemblies or processes:
    • Execute design solutions for Turbomachinery hardware as per project technical and program requirements.
    • Participate as a co-presenter in technical and program reviews.
    • Concurrently work on multiple project deliverables, monitoring progress and ensuring schedule and requirements are met.
    • Effectively monitor and communicate project deliverable status and significant developments.   
    • Ensure timely communication with project and/program leaders.
    • Document technical data generated by developing the design substantiation of the assigned component, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish and check own work.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Understand input from different engineering disciplines such as Materials, Stress, Repair, Field support, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN FLUENT CONVERSATIONS IN ENGLISH.
  • Knowledge in Mechanical Stress, Low Cycle and High Cycle Fatigue and/or Thermal Analysis.
  • Mechanical Design Knowledge such as Tolerance, GD&T, Stack-up analysis and Manufacturing Processes.
  • Able to perform Engineering hand calculations and usage of technical standards.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.  
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate a message and/or technical recommendation with the proper structure.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing own project deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with guidance.
