Job PurposeAt Emirates Group our Analytics Centre of Excellence (ACoE) is a centralized unit that provides data and analytics support to Emirates Group businesses. This allows our businesses to make better decisions by using data and analytics to understand our customers, operations, and spanets. The ACoE is an essential part of Emirates Groups digital transformation strategy. The unit is helping Emirates Group to become a more data-driven organization and to make better decisions by using data and analytics.
This role is responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing the governance framework and platform for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models and systems, ensuring that all AI initiatives across the Emirates Group are developed and deployed in a responsible, ethical manner and in line with internal policies and emerging external regulations.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive AI governance framework aligned with data governance and enterprise risk management principles. Define policies, standards, and guidelines for responsible AI/ML model lifecycle management including design, development, deployment, monitoring, and deprecation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate ethical, societal, legal, privacy, and reputational risks associated with AI use cases by building integrations, assessments and workflows through a centralised governance platform.
- Translate evolving AI regulations (e.g., European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act), industry specific guidelines) into actionable internal policies and controls.
- Establish and manage AI model inventory, registration, and documentation, including mechanisms for explainability, fairness, transparency, and accountability.
- Implement AI governance controls across the full model lifecycle, ensuring integration with existing data governance platforms and compliance mechanisms.
- Provide leadership as a subject matter expert in AI governance by fostering cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Data Privacy, Cyber Security & EDA, ensuring AI Governance is built into the AI lifecycle.
- Work in close coordination with the broader Data Governance team to ensure alignment of AI governance with data quality, metadata management, and data lineage processes. Take ownership of conducting regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related quantitative or qualitative field.
- 8+ years Experience in data and analytics, data & AI governance or information management, other.
Knowledge/skills:
- Proven deep understanding of AI Governance with significant experience in Data Science teams delivering end to end solutions.
- Demonstrated understanding of AI/ML concepts, methodologies, and their practical applications.
- Strong knowledge of emerging AI regulations, ethical guidelines, and industry best practices (e.g., responsible AI principles, MLOps governance).
- Preferred certification in AI Governance, AI Ethics, or related fields.
