Role Overview
The Military Sourcing Leader is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring optimal supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement across the sourcing function. This leader will manage complex supplier relationships, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and expertise in sourcing, supply chain management, and Lean principles.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead team of 11 cross-functional sourcing members to break constraints and drive solutions for the military engines business.
- Select sources who can meet demand and negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies.
- Achieve the best contractual conditions while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Partner with other Commodity Leaders to drive outcomes aligned to negotiation parameters and strategy.
- Partner with Design Engineering to ensure robust plans are in place to find alternate solutions that dont exist today.
- Develop strategies that de-risk the military engines programs and drive overall SQDC performance.
- Drive multiple programs to support military engine business and ensure compliance to all regulations.
- Define and improve Sourcing strategies to meet military business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Supply Chain roles)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sourcing leadership, Sourcing management, and/or Sourcing operations roles
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Sourcing leadership roles
- Experience with Defense requirements
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of Lean fundamentals
- Ability to work in complex, rapid, and ambiguous environments
- Technical background with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts in a global environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that drive SQDC performance and program success
