Role Introduction

Reports to: Senior Solution Lead

Join Cathay as a Solution Lead in our Inflight Service Delivery Solution Centre. You will be the one to manage advanced IT systems that streamline inflight service operations for our people and enhance experience for our customers across our global network.

Leverage your expertise to lead technical delivery in the Inflight Service Delivery Solution Centre, ensuring we deliver on our brand promise and drive organizational success together with our wide-reaching Inflight Service Delivery teams around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pre-project consulting for a portfolio pipeline of initiatives. Capture and communicate business direction, challenges and requirements; support business process change
  • Recommends commercially and technically viable ideas to improve the business performance, conceptualise and propose solution approaches
  • Minor project management including resource, schedule, cost management. Facilitate project progress through relevant gates
  • Work closely with the developers, analysts and architects to design, develop, implement, and support IT products and applications to meet the customer needs
  • Ensure quality of deliverables in testing aspects including but not limited to security, performance, integration
  • Keep abreast of latest trends in technology, industry and corresponding business domain
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance and support activities for in house-developed applications
  • Lead a team and manage 3rd parties to resolve production technical issues for business. Proactively identify support needs on existing applications to improve internal efficiency and business satisfaction
  • Provide immediate support for production incident, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and problems
  • Compliance to Cathay IT Practices & Standard on security & quality
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline, Masters preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of IT experience in solid software development and project management throughout the software development life cycle (e.g. system analysis, business analysis, solution definition, production support and resource management)
  • Experience managing a team from different regions/locations.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with business users, developers, architects, project managers, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Proactive ‘can do’ attitude and sense of urgency. Professional, passionate, innovative, self-motivated and able to present solutions to diverse groups of stakeholders 
  • Solid system development skill is highly beneficial
    • Mobile development (iOS, Android)
    • Web development (NodeJS, Angular, MVC model, Java, JSP)
    • Database (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL Server)
  • Experience in Agile delivery model: User Stories, Sprint planning, demo and retrospective, automated testing is beneficial.
  • Airline or travel industry knowledge is highly beneficial
  • Understanding of cloud, DevOps, APIs / Mobility would be added advantage
