Plan, control, co-ordinate and expedite the operational or recovery activities together with deployment of resources and activities of a specific Cargo Operational section at Dubai Cargo Hub (EK Cargo) in order to facilitate efficient and cost-effective processing of system-wide booked cargo loads or discrepancies. Ensure optimum capacity utilization in accordance with the contractual commitments and product priorities and/or ensure speedy resolution of discrepancies through liaison with network and regulatory authorities; obtain permits as appropriate from regulatory authorities. Maintain quality performance standards without compromising safety and schedules.

In this role you will:

• The jobholder is responsible for the management and administration of the cargo operational activities of a specific section/ activity at the Dubai Hub. Align strategies with internal sections and departments of Emirates Regulatory Authorities and Service Providers to ensure that operational priorities are actioned pro-actively and efficiently to achieve the highest standards with the optimum safe utilisation of available capacity.
• Maintains a record of the activities of the shift producing an Activity Report detailing the rate of attainment together with disruptions/deviations from the plan, their reasons and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and also for the Senior Cargo Management to facilitate decision and development processes.
• Liaise and co-ordinates on behalf of Emirates SkyCargo Hub Operations with concerned departments and authorities in the event of disruptions/incidents to facilitate continuity of operations. Supply the required information/documentation to Senior Management to facilitate investigations and recovery actions as appropriate.
• Represents Emirates SkyCargo Hub Operations at scheduled meetings of internal and/or external bodies to ensure that cargo requirements are identified and addressed, reporting proposed changes to policies and procedures for Senior Management action/approval as and when it is required.
• Measure, assess and evaluate the standards of network implementation of agreed cargo policies and procedures for the range of products and recommending/evaluating strategy and or procedural changes and enhancements where and when appropriate to ensure spanet leadership. Action service recovery initiatives expeditiously, to manage and promote customer loyalty relationships.
• Effective communication (written/electronic and verbal) with internal/external customer and service providers in order to promote and maintain a focused, efficient, motivated professional team with quality outputs and spanet image.
• Provide expertise during the shift especially for those matters relating to abnormal or special cargo to achieve product quality objectives and conformity with published safety requirements and standards.
• Ensure at all times, that the handling of time and temperature and pharmaceutical shipments demonstrates compliance to the European Union Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP) requirements.
• Provide expertise and consultancy advice during the shift especially for those matters relating to abnormal or special cargo to achieve product quality objectives and conformity with published safety requirements and standards.
• Monitor the performance of Supervisors, Senior and Cargo Handling Agents, intervening where appropriate to ensure work is done proactively and efficiently. Provide and facilitate on-going training and development to the reporting staff on shift, to optimize performance and efficiency and contribute to the career development of staff.
• Ensure adequate safety awareness briefings are provided to staff to avoid the risk of incidents.
• Ensure optimum and efficient use of manpower; keep a check on OT levels and FTE workers, thus reducing overhead costs.

• 12 years schooling or equivalent
• 5+ Years Experience in Logistics/Cargo. Air Cargo
• Experience in airline cargo or ground handling section of which should have been at a Supervisory level.
• Aircraft handling, including weight and balance, cargo load planning, ramp handling.
• Ability to demonstrable high level of knowledge and competence in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) acquired through experience and training.
• Knowledge of a cargo terminal handling with automated and computerized operating and communication systems.
• Ability to manage subordinates, lead a team and effective communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and possess strong communication skills and work independently with minimal guidance.
• Minimum DG Cat-8.
