Job Summary:

The HR Generalist will work closely with members of the HR Team, carrying out both administrative and strategic responsibilities in support of the department’s commitment to service and excellence on site. He/she will be responsible for location payroll and various people metrics, as well as be actively engaged in plant activities that support the effective facilitation of processes related to his/her key responsibilities.

The HR Generalist must be a creative, organized, enthusiastic professional, with demonstrated ability to work independently and problem solve in a fast-changing environment. They must display maturity, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate successfully within a large and complex organization. He/She has the ability, desire, and engagement to continue to grow in the HR field.

In this role, you will:

  • Process weekly hourly payroll and monthly salary payroll for the location; partner with Corporate Payroll to implement changes and test improvements to payroll systems, train departmental payroll administrators, and keep location aware of payroll processes; partner with Labor Relations and HR Business Partners on contractual payroll obligations such as vacation, holiday pay, wage increases, grievances, etc.
  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations and facilitate the onboarding processes for hourly and salary new hires.
  • Provide full-cycle recruiting for hourly positions including posting, sourcing, developing diverse applicant pools, and interview coordination.
  • Coordinate with departments on probationary employee forms and tracking.
  • Assist with exit processes – including account closure, employee checklists, and exit interviews.
  • Complete location weekly, monthly, and annual reporting; collaborate with location and HR team to provide requested data and reporting; analyze data and identify continuous improvement opportunities or recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with internal audit compliance, data retention policies, and document control management.
  • Complete administrative tasks to support the HR Team such as ordering and maintaining supplies, preparing plant wide communications, organizational announcements, and postings, and maintaining personnel files.
  • Ensure compliance of Arconic policies and procedures.
  • Act as a team member, HR champion and change agent on the team and in the broader organization.
  • Provide back up support to other members of the HR Team to ensure consistent coverage is always provided.

Also note:

  • This role is primarily a day shift, Monday-Friday role. However, there may be times an employee will need to be on call or work off-shifts to complete required work.

You have: (required)

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications with strong skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
