Raytheon Australia works closely with the Australian Defence Force as its trusted capability partner to deliver some of the most complex and ground-breaking engineering and technology projects in the country.

Since 2011, Raytheon Australia have been contracted to deliver facilities services in support of the Harold E. Holt (HEH) Defence Precinct in Exmouth, Western Australia. Home to the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST), the C-Band Radar and Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio transmission capability, together these systems add a critical contribution to Australias space domain awareness and battlespace awareness missions.

Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a bright and energised VLF Technician to join our inspired team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, (VLF) you will be required to Support the VLF Supervisor to operate, troubleshoot and maintain the VLF transmitter subsystem, including all telecommunications facilities, systems and equipment. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional who is keen to establish themselves within the business and drive efficiencies within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Broadcast transmitter operation and maintenance skills
• A proven ability to operate within the individual IT environment (Microsoft Office Suite)
• IT software and Tools (WINTEL, Office suite)
• Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proven ability to work as an individual and as a member of a team; and Act in the role of VLF Day Technician as required.
• The capability to operate effectively with limited supervision

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in an electronics discipline
• Previous experience in a Communications related trade or equivalent
• Previous experience working on High Power Transmitters.
• Highly developed skills in the diagnosis and rectification of fault conditions on communications services
• PLC knowledge and experience in ladder logic diagnostics
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Basic First Aid certification
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
