POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare aircraft and / or component parts by performing surface preparation tasks prior to application of primer and topcoat.    Install sealant and erosion tape.   Apply primer and topcoat.  Layout aircraft to customer specifications.  Inspect, perform touch-up and polish painted surfaces for a finished appearance.  Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hanger positions)
2. Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures.  Participate in 5-S activities.  Perform all work in a safe and timely manner.
3. Perform surface preparation on aircraft and component parts
4. Apply primer / topcoat / final spray
5. Perform touch ups as needed
6. Polish painted surfaces for finished appearance
7. Install sealant and erosion tape
8. Perform other duties as assigned
9. Maintain and order parts as necessary
10. Perform paint matching and blending activities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Typically a minimum of two (2) years painting experience (aviation, automotive or marine)
• Basic knowledge of regulations dealing with transportation of hazardous materials
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
• Demonstrated ability to effectively train other employees
